The flute quartet 40f was founded in october 2007, and the first performance took place at Atalante in Goteborg, Sweden, in April 19th 2008.
Always aiming for new meeting points for music and audience, the members in 40f, Ann Elkjär, Sareidah Hildebrand, Anna Svensdotter and Jill Widén, present a mix between concert and performance.
The repertoire is based on experimental music and improvisation, and includes works by Yoshihisa Taïra, Sofia Gubaidulina and Kaija Saariaho.
During 2012-13 40f premiered three new pieces, commissioned with support from Kulturrådet, by Anna Eriksson, Mirjam Tally, and Tomas Hulenvik.
Also the project ”The Opposing Power”, a collaboration with the electronica trio World Domination (Mattias Petersson, Jonathan Liljedal, Daniel Karlsson) was launched, including workshops and concerts in Ale, Stockholm and Härnösand.
